Hospital II

Hospital II

I’ll have to spend one more night in the hospital. It seems like I got used to the oxygen by now and don’t really want to let it go. I feel like Frozen’s song was written for me and my oxygen device right now.Yesterday’s dinner surprised me. I “ordered” pasta with roasted veggies. Since 2015 I’m the proud owner of a nice pasta machine, so since then I’ve only eaten fresh homemade pasta. I’ve become a little bit reticent when it comes to eating dried pasta from a package. In this case, I didn’t mind, but I think because the flavours of the veggies were nice enough. It had a lot of red and green pepper and some garlic, so flavourwise the dish got it covered.

And today’s menu included lentil stew. Last time I had it from a hospital kitchen, I was amazed. The taste was incredibly pungent, in a very good way. For those of you who do not know how that works in my area, lentil stew is usually cooked with ham and chorizo appart from many veggies and stuff that makes it the perfect comfort food. Basically my expectations were too high. They were good anyway.

I forgot to talk about breakfast or what we call merienda (afternoon snack). I’m having freshly juiced orange juice and toasts with olive oil. Sometimes cookies, fruit and decaf coffee. I’ve never been a coffee person. I’ve always liked it but don’t drink it often. Lately I’ve been finding myself craving for black unsweetened coffee more often than not.

Waiting for tomorrow’s menu. Although I’d rather be at home thinking about it, of course.

Have fun!
