New Year, Old Me…with some upgrades 🙂 🎧

New Year, Old Me…with some upgrades 🙂 🎧

It’s a new year. There’s so many memories worth talking about in 2019, but I’m one of those that really enjoys just thinking about them instead of talking about them. There were some losses too. One of them really shook the end of the year and tinted all the Christmas festivities with a very different tone. But I’ve learnt a lot, and I keep learning. 2019 has been a constant learning experience, and I think I’ve never known my true self better.

One thing I’d like to do more this year is writing. It turns out I love writing in any shape or form: music, lyrics, blog posts, instagram posts, stories, journals, lists, short stories, recipes, maybe novels… The simple fact of grabbing a nice pen (yes, the pen nerds know what kind of pens I’m talking about…those that glide across the paper effortlessly 🤤) to write a word, makes me happy. I know a blog post is not exactly writing on paper, but it’s a similar way of using my brain and body for something creative.

I’ve been asking you through my Instagram Stories what do you like to see on Sílvia Fooding during 2020. I’ve used your feedback and I’m willing to commit to some of the preferences you have, which I was already suspecting. Thanks to all of you that took the time to answer and sent messages telling me what they like. It turns out, many of you are on the same page I am in many topics.

So, to start this new year I want to start by sharing with you something that I enjoy. Making playlists. I’ve always been a good DJ at home. I remember grabbing my father’s vynils and recording casettes that would be “Mix tape vol. whatever” and I remember ending with volume “XXVI” or so. I didn’t use Roman numbers by the way, just using them now to look smarter.

But then I stopped. Life (aka work) gets in the way and Music became my full time job, leaving me almost no time to enjoy other music than my own. Boring life, I know. Well, to be honest, I listened to other people’s music, but I didn’t have the time to make mix tapes, just listening to full albums on their own (which I truly enjoy too).

The thing is…I asked you if you wanted to see more Music or Lifestyle related topics at Sílvia Fooding and the results were 42%-58% So I thought…what if I mixed music and lifestyle? The result was…Spotify Playlists. Because we all love music, and most of us use Spotify, so I could do something we enjoy in our daily lives, which is music, without it being my own music all the time.

Tell me what do you think about this, and of course, if you have any suggestions for the DJ, she will listen…or pass as most DJs do 😅 I had a great time doing this and the listening to it.

“January 2020” is available at Sílvia Fooding’s Spotify account through the spotify app. I hope you enjoy it. I usually listen to it in the morning while working in office related work,  right after I finish my morning routine. Tell me when do you listen to music usually, in the morning? at night? in the shower? in the car?

Also, if you take the time to listen to the playlist, which was your favourite song?

Don’t forget you can talk to me through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter if you are not one of those that comments on blog posts 🙂 I really appreciate all of you that take the time and share it with me. You are great: Happy New Year. Have fun…and keep fooding!
