February 2024 – Monthly update

So here we are. Mid-March. February was tough for me in many ways: health issues in the family (blood and furry), a broken computer in the studio stopping us from recording our next album (top priority) and not being able to fix it for a while because it seemed like a different kind of problem, even for the experts. Also, very low energy and not too much time for doing anything else than solving problems. But this is your reminder that this too has passed. So if you are struggling right now, just take a deep breath and trust that good things are coming to you. Now, hit play and let’s dive into my February.

I’ve been coming back to my early morning routines at the end of the month because I wasn’t sleeping too well when the year started. I believe that worry is the worst nightmare for human beings. And I come from a lineage of worriers.

I’ve been working a lot on this for a good part of my adult life, but it seems that worry always finds its way to creep in.

Now, I just let her come. I see her and I acknowledge her and feel grateful because if I worry, it means it matters to me. But I don’t allow myself to fall into her botomless pit. I just breathe slowly and find my way back to cheerful land.

food plate balanced

I’ve been dealing with A LOT in the last 7 years and this blog and all concerning Sílvia Fooding has suffered a little bit for that.

Food became a necessity and a way of nourishing myself, and sometimes I had to leave pleasure behind in regards to food. I’m kind of coming back to that nice balance between both things. It’s not being easy because I’ve been quite busy, something I appreciate and feel deeply grateful for. I’m still working on practicing what I preach.

Simplifying has been my greatest asset lately, even in the food field. But I really miss taking food photoshoots in the studio and prepping nice recipes for the sake of blogging. It’s something I have in my veins, the blooging and the photographing.

Color palette

I’m in the middle of some new projects too and that gives me a lot of enthusiasm to keep going in other areas. I’ve been looking at colours to paint some parts of my studio and I think I’ve made up my mind. Meanwhile, I enjoy the mere fact of living and finding ease even in the most shaky times. I hope you all are doing well. Have fun and keep fooding!

Sílvia.
